Looking to put a 4.6 DOHC in 1956 F100
Hi Everyone, I have a 1956 F100 and a 4.6 with a aode from a 94 Mark VIII and I want to run this engine and trans with Corvette C4 suspension front and rear. The first question is do I try to use the Mark VIII EEC IV PCM and rework the Mark wiring harness or is there a better aftermarket chose? I kept everything from the Mark, so I still have all that stuff. If aftermarket is better who make the stuff? Would I be better off going to OBD II 96-98? How do I tune this? I want to be able to drive it daily
Thanks

Well, he has all the Mark VIII stuff already
Use the stock harness and PCM, I'd say. Tuning it, well, that's a different story.
If it were me, I'd go for something later with flash-capable PCM. I don't think the '96-97 will do it, not sure about '98. You'll need a chip to insert into the side of the PCM to do any tunes for it, and the '94 will surely need a chip too.

now this is my opinion but, if your looking for a easier swap and possible avoidance of the swap headaches, look to ford racing. they have a 4.6 control pack. believe it comes with a ecm and harness. that might be a viable avenue to check out. also, have you checked with painless????? they might have a harness then just round up a puter if your running a manual or a non-computerized trans like a aod or c-4. as ar as that hanress you got from the car, you might run into more headaches than ease of install.
