73 SCS 460 motor swap question

Hello, I own a 73 F350 Super Camper Special that originally had a 390 and I Am swapping in a 460 from a 76 Econoline Chgateau Van. The 460 and C6 from the Van were completely built for Towing a race trailer and have 5 K miles on the set. What all do I have to change and whats the easiest way to do the swap. Here is what I know is this correct so far. 1.) I need to swap oil pans to a 2wd truck 460 oil pan 2.) relocate the dipstick to the timiming cover 3.) Radiator should be same correct?? I have the desert Rad. 4.) The 460 had Electronic ignition so I have to change the electrical? The old 390 was points-how do I do this? 5.) The engine mount Perches have to be changed to the perches from a 73-77 460 2wd perches and mounts--what all really needs to be done.?? Any help is greatly appreciated. Wayne

I can help with the wiring. You want the distributor, coil, ignition module, and all of the wiring harness in between from the van. The coil and distributor plug into the module through a self-contained wiring harness, except for the BATT terminal of the coil (positive terminal). However you can simply splice in the wire that went to the original BATT terminal. In other words, the BATT terminal of the van's coil comes from a separate harness, it won't disconnect with the module. However, the wire going to the BATT terminal of your truck's coil is the same signal, and can be re-used.

The only other thing you'll have to do is power the module, as your '73 won't have provisions for this. Since it's a '76 I should ask, how many wires do you have coming off your module? There are a couple different versions of electronic ignition around that time frame.

Wiring

Thank_you. I checked and the Module has 6 wires. 2 wires go to one plug, White/Red wires and 4 other wires go to another plug, Green/Red/purple/black w/gr stripe . Does that help. Wayne
