Evening all. Finally arrived back in town from the weekend out. I wish I could go one birthday or father's day without wanting to put a gun in my mouth. If it wasn't overcast, I would check for a full moon tonight. Oh well, at least I was able to catch some of the NASCAR race.

I have a "who remembers" or "does anyone remember" question for everyone. My wife and I saw a guy towing and old VW Bug backwards on a car dolly. My wife jokingly said that he was trying to take some miles off the car. After a good laugh, she asked if the odometer on cars ever actually went in reverse when the car went backwards. Does anyone know the answer? I know modern cars don't, but did older cars? Who can help solve my little mystery?

 

Yes they did go backwards, they were gear driven. Some people would take miles off their vehicles by jacking them up and putting in reverse. I've seen dealers using an electric drill hooked to the cable to take miles off.

 

Well I feel better now then earler in the day...LOL

Evening or is it almost morning everyone.

Was busy this afternoon working on trimming up a few trees at my parents. Finished that up and sat down on the couch to take a break, ended up napping for a few hours. My fire department got called out for a rescue call of a boat caught in the under tow from a spillway dumping into a creek. Luckily they were able to get out of it on their own and when we got on scene they were out of the water. I got the big window AC unit in the window and watched a movie with the wife.
