nope.. Jody cant do any thing to the IDM..he just tunes around it...the 140V opens the injector sooner so it keeps the injector open longer for a bigger shot of fuel..Jody plays with timming to burn the extra fuel better..
yes very simple..Jody recomends it on the early 99 cause our IDM's are 110V the 99.5's-03's are 120V..the hardest part about doing the mod is getting over the fear of it....i dont and cant solder..but i did this mod with ease
Well then it should be pretty easy considering I modded my hand held HAM radio and it has a resistor and diod about the size of the tip of a sharpened pencil. That was scary because one wrong shake and I could have taken out a few more diods and resistors.
Well, it's on my todo list along with a few other things

Ahhh.... Another Amateur. You'll have no problems here. If you can work on SMT, you'll do fine here.
I'm approaching that quarter century mark as a Ham myself. Been licensed since '87...
I was given a diode from Dieselcamper Jay 7 months ago and still haven't gotten mine in yet, was planing on last week but got sidetracked, always sidetracked.. It will get done soon, vacation time.
what mod is this. what does it do. will it make a difference on an 01, will i have to get my DP reburned?
Increases the voltage output of the injector drive module. It speeds up the "reaction time" of the injectors. It opens them at a faster rate to empty quicker. Ron mentioned this earlier. I did it on my '01. I didn't reburn my DP. It works fine with it. Better throttle response, slightly better mpgs and less turbo lag.
