My 92 has a 4" Rancho Lift and 33" tires. Other than that it is stock. I have been having dificulty turning right lately. It will turn Left just fine, I can turn the steering wheel all the way to get the tire to rub if I want to. Going right, however, is difficult to the point my wife can't drive it like this. I thought at first it was the gearbox, so I got a new one and haven't put it on yet. But the other day I had jackstands below the I beams with the tires off the ground and I was able to go lock to lock with the steering wheel no problem at all. I feel that the passenger tire is "Cambered" out a bit and I am wondering if there is an adjustment that maybe came out recently. I have a few good alignment places around here, but at a price... The Bronco sits pretty level and I am looking to try a few things before taking it to a specialty shop for camber kits, but will if I can prove that will fix it. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
I had this same thing happen to me on my 93.
The problem on mine was that the stearing box got clogged with a small particle of power steering hose. It would steer left great, but not so much to the right.
Also, check for a siezed axle u-joint.
If replacing steering box, use all new fluid, new hoses with a filter and flush out the pump.
This would also be a good time to upgrade to the A-1 cardone retrofit pump if you so desire.
The alignment should be fixed, but it is an unlikely culprit for hard steering to the right.
