DP tuner upset my wife

Not really Jody and Diane. I was going to buy a new f350 6.4 for her to use as a DD and me to use for towing. She is only 4'11" and can't push in the clutch of my 7.3. Now she has to stick with her Civic.

Just put my Dp Tuner in and it is insane. I was starting to wonder if the ol 7.3 was up to the task to tow a heavy load on some of the passes here in the West. I was starting to look into a new 6.4 and decided to try a custom chip before selling. I'm glad I did since the truck is paid for and is a capable machine now with the new chip.

I have had a diablo predator tuner for 4-5 years and wish I would have stepped up sooner. The F5 chip on 60 tow is stronger than my 100 hp predator. I have no start, stock, 40 tow, 60 tow, 80 econo codes and 120 race codes.

I'm going to be buying a coolingmist water/methanol system here soon and can't wait to see how she tows.

That sounds like you really like it. No need for a 6.4 now. The 7.3 will have plenty off power for your needs. What sre these tuners worth if i might ask.

LOL... Nice thread!!

If you're making this a serious tow-rig, get your trans mod'ed, get your tunes to match, and put in a big trans cooler. Upgraded brakes and turbo aren't a bad idea either.

Awesome story!

At first I was going to tell you it is time for wifemod v.2.0

But it looks like the upgraded v.1.1 worked out for you.

I just about have mine set up to be a great tow machine. Got the DP tuner, air bags on, coolant filter, JW valve body on the way, and then I think it'll be time for a Tru-cool and should be set. Looks like you made a good decision.

My wife's 5'3" and can push my clutch in just fine. She even hit a cow with my truck once so I was forced to get her her own truck.

Time to change your signature. Congrats on the install.

I have an upgraded clutch supposedly good for 500 hp. I'm going to go atleast a d66 and maybe a h2e with bigger sticks eventually. I'm going to be buying the water/methanol within a couple weeks. I need to finish my research but am going with a coolingmist unit.

Oh... DUH!! I missed the part about you having the 6-speed...

Forget about the trans stuff, but the rest I think is a good idea.

now you will just cuss when you get cut off going up harleys canyon. I love the 60tow on mine, runs very stong, very manageable temps. Was up to strawberry with the trailer this last weekend. Did verynice climbing out if heber. Think I slowed to 45 at the last part mainly because we were looking at the elk in velvet on the side of the road and I wasn't really pushing hard. Congrats on the F5, you'll love it more and more as you use it.

Thanks Mike. I can't wait to pull our 5th wheel now. 60 Tow is a beast, easily as strong or stronger than my 100 hp predator tune. I'm also going to make an ebpv brake before I take the trailer out again. Now I just need to find the custom dash switches for it and the water/methanol.

The only comment my wife has made about the DP in my truck is "boy it's hard to go slow in this thing..."
