what kind of fitting is this on heater hose?
I pulled my oil cooler today to rebuild it due to oil leak and will be changing water pump and all coolant hoses. My question is about this fitting on the heater hoses. The new gates hoses don't have a fitting like this on them. Do I need this fitting when I change hoses, do I need a special tool to remove and install it? I've never seen one like this before. The other end has regular spring clamps. Any help woudl be appreciated.

Removing hoses at heater core.

Push it full forward ( toward the heater core ) to expose locking tabs, compress the retainer locking tabs, then, using a slight twisting motion while simultaneously pulling on the heater hose.." Haynes manual

I always called those push-lock with retainer hoses... The replacement hoses should come with them because there is a little lip or ring on the heater core outlet/inlet that the retainer locks onto. Also, make sure you get a dual alternator upper rad hose so it goes around the belt, not through. Napa # 21470 I think....let me check.

Heater hoses
I will need to check if there are other hoses. The ones I got don't have the lock and turn fittings on the heater core end. I already have the alt mod hose and will be replacing the serpintine belt and water pump. Does anyone have the part numbers of the heater hoses with turn lock fittings for my F350?
