alanco is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
No gallery as yet

I hold the back of the underdash unit up with a brace bolted through the firewall. The Mark IV unit is 14" deep so it sticks out about 4.5" from the lower lip of the dash.

Nothing yet in my gallery. I just closed my Restoration business and never had any time to digitize my slides before I got a digital camera. This winter I am going to try to do all the slides and fill the gallery. I also will be building my '53 complete and am going to document it. I have been buying parts from Arizona Mobile Air in Phoenix and they are on the internet at www.ackits.com. My condenser is a parallel flow style which is more efficient than a tube and fin type and is 17 X 30.5" . I buy refrigeration oils, o-rings, hose clamps, bulk hose, receiver dryers for expansion valve systems, and accumulators for fixed orfice systems. I buy my tools from Johnstone Supply in Reno, and my R-134 from either Johnstone Supply or Auto Parts Depot in Gardneerville. I scout wrecking yards for add-on air, and for GM A4 compressors and brackets, and Japanese compressors. If I see a good condensor, I will buy that as well. I still do auto air for folks around here, so I keep up on small parts and supplies.....

Regards,

Alan

Going to be taking this out.

Got the unit in. With exception to a leak at one of the condensors fittings the unit is down to 40 degrees at the vents. Does good on low, does well on medium. No real need for high speed

Had to lose the radio though. But working on getting it mounted in the glovebox. RIght now I use my ipod with one ear bud(plug)

Hey Donald, I have a similar unit I'll be installing on mine. Is there any chance of fabbing a lower extension panel being to make it look like part of the dash? Or, should I give up on that thought? Also, is your cab insulated in any manner? How is the foot/leg room affected?

Thanks!

Carnut yeah you could fab one. The unit although is probably going to need to sit at a slight angle for drainage purposes. My cab is insulated all over very well. Only advice on foot/leg room is to get the evaporator over to the passenger side enough to leave you comfortable accelerator room. This winter I will probably move my evaporator over about 1.5 inch. It is close to the pedal. If you have more questions just hit me up. Be glad to answer.
