Job Loss coming up soon

Well fellas i just received some disheartening news, they issed our WARN notice today which gives us 60 days of employment remaining. If our division of the company is not sold within the next 60 Days we will be shutting the doors. Which means there will be another 142 employees looking for work. If you are a believer please remember all of us in your prayers. I have been here for a lil over 6 years and some have been here almost 8. This is definately going to be a stressfull time.
Thank You In Advance

Loss of a job isn't fun, even worse when you know what's coming. I've been out for a while but have been doing side jobs and stuff to keep busy. You're definately in my thoughts and prayers.

Wish you all the best Ray. I've missed a couple sets of layoffs here by luck, but the way things are going, I don't know how much longer it'll last.

As bad as it is to know ahead of time, it gives you ample warning to start looking around and prepare.

Prayers for all of you from here in Chicago, Ray. I just hate hearing that yet another employer is going under, Good luck to each and every one of you. As difficult as it may seem, keep telling yourself that your "new" job is finding a new job, try to get up and start looking at the same time you start now and don't stop until quitting time. If it's not an interview or app, you can refine your resume or scour the want ads and craigslist. Network; after 6 years you've likely made more contacts than you know. Again, God bless and good luck.

I feel for you Ray...... I just bought some new Iron (Concrete boom Pump)out of the States from a Ritchie Bro auction, Although I got one helluva deal it is just scary what is happening out there, this equipment is way under priced and surely the sign of the times not just one sector but all of them are hurting bad.

Kinda alarming when you see equipment 1-2 years old in a good market sell for 750K- 1 Mill + going for 250K that is just scary, like I say a good deal but alarming to say the least !

We are looking for Operators (Union I.U.O.E 793 - Non Union) but perhaps that commute would be a little far for you , but if you ever find yourself in Ontario to stay let me know !

Good Luck !

Thanks guys for your thoughts and prayers. My wife is a lil more upset about it than i am. I have been doing some secuirty work on the side, plus coaching football. I have also started looking around and calling on some contacts so i can be prepared.

Pumper, i agree the commute could be a lil much at times!
Thanx

No, but i do know the facility you are refering to. My father in law had a dump truck leased out to them that we drove for them, and we also did about 4K a month worth of pressure washing for that company. So even my side jobs keep falling thru.

Ray, we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. I went through that years ago when I worked at Raytheon in Bristol and it's disheartening to say the least. Best of luck to you my friend.

Just been there, just done it.........I cant tell you anything to make it easier. My work gave me a real purpose, now I feel less than useful.............The job market sucks too thats for sure, just keep looking...........I guess I would have felt better about the permanent closure of our plant, if I hadnt found out that all the machinery in the plant was sold and is being shipped to New Zealand!.......Guess us Americans just arent interested in family wage mfg. jobs anymore.

Well that sucks. I've been layed off before with no notice, so I know how it feels. But on the plus side, you have 60 days for the company to find a buyer for your division. What is it you do, anyway?

We build farm tractor implements, which in itself says alot about the current agriculture industry and the failing economy. My specific title is Service Parts Supervisor.
