From what I've heard:

78 - 86 33"
87 - 96 32"

The difference being that in 87, the body went to more rounded wheel wells (as opposed to the more square earlier style) so they're a tad smaller.

32s are generally considered easy fitment.

There is much debate about this. I have a 92 with 33x12.50's. Supposedly 92 and up(I think thats the years) can only fit 32x11.50's. Mine fit good unless I turn the wheel all the way one way or another. Some say that 33's will fit by shimming the front bumper. I don't know, makes sense, but my bumper is fine. You can fit bigger if you have a sawzall. It all depends on why. You may want to go shorter and wider, or taller and skinnier.

I have 2" leveling springs on the front of my 93, and still had to cut pretty big pieces out of the front bumper so that I could turn. My wheels do stick out further than stock, and my tires actually measure 33", which can't be said for most 33's. I don't see how 33's could fit a stock Bronco from my experience.

Tires

Check the wheel width. My 95 F150 on the stock aluminum 7.5 inch wide rim is good up to a 31X10;50. A friend put 32's on his and they bulged real bad because of the narrower wheel. If you go to the kelly tire truck tire page it has a fitment guide listing sizes of tires and recommended wheel widths.

I have 15x8 steel rims and 33x12.50 Pro Comp Xterrains with no problems. I had them on the truck before the lift ever went on.

What year is yours? The body style factors in a lot.

Well as has been said, it depends on alot of things. My 78 would clear 35s with no lift except in extreme off camber. My cousins 86 cleared 40s with
sm ll body lift.(my keybo rd just broke the first letter of the lph bet)
