I rather like the look of matching the lower paint color, be it two tone or single color. Contrasting colors will draw your eye towards the contrast and make you look the wheel wells which will be a pretty dirty spot.

It all depends on what you want, really. If it were my truck, I would go for painted to match though because of exactly what ReAX pointed out...the contrast draws attention to what's probably going to be the dirtiest spot on the vehicle.

awesome! that's what i'm looking for! which ones are they???
i need them to cover about 1/4" of rust i'm starting to get around my OEM ones on the front!
i have stock 17" tires, but still think it'll look good and plan on keeping them black also.

They're the Bushwacker 3" flares, they overlap the fenders by about 3" so they should easily cover the rust you have. You can also get them in the pocket style which is more aggressive looking. You can get them at Auto Parts at AutoAnything - Auto Accessories, Truck Accessories, Aftermarket Parts, Car Covers, Tonneau Cover and Seat Covers or just about any other truck accessories site

That's a good looking truck, Mitch. My 99 Ranger was white, so I did mine with the "black and white" theme also and when it's done right, looks awesome.

thanks for the info...Bushwacker couldn't even tell me how much they would cover! are these the ones? I didn't see the 3" ones and the pocket flares aren't made for the Screw

Here is a picture of my F250. I also left mine black because I feel it matches the rest of my truck quite nicely. If you have a theme going with your truck, try to stick with it. Don't want parts to stick out like a sore thumb.

Those will work, they're 2" flares so they should cover your rust. Apparently they don't make 3" flares for the older model 150s. Those are a little different than mine. Probably easier to install.

Thanks liftn, didn't really have much choice with the color, so I figured I define it a little more.

Did I say these flares over lap my fenders by 3"? Well I was wrong, I just measured them and they overlap the fender 7", so I'm sure the ones your looking at will cover your rust, by about 4" I'd say. They'll extend out from your fender 2".
