what can i add to my oil to slow my oil leak?

hey guys, i can't remember where i was reading this, but it was something along the lines of adding power steering fluid or break fluid to my oil to help slow down my oil leak. the rear main seal is gone on my truck and is leaking pretty bad, so i just wanted a temporary fix for it... if anyone knows about this please let me know. thanks

There are several companies including Lucas that make a main seal leak stop, can't hurt to try though by the way you sound its pretty bad.......Good Luck!!

why not just dive in and replace the rear main and not have to worry bout it again for another 10 or 15 years? If you add any additive it may cause damage to other seals and the internals of your engine. Just consistantly check your oil and add as needed. it'll cost more but it will make sure you dont cause damage. If its so bad that you add a quart every couple of weeks you need to change the rear main. otherwise just check and fill.
