Help w/ Transmission
Hey, i'm looking at a 1993 gmc 4x4 and it has a 700R4 tranny with150k miles on it so I was thinking about replacing it altogether and just getting a better tranny after a while. Is there any specific trannys that you know of that are pretty HD or good for the money? (This truck will see mud occasioanly)

That trans should be a 4L60E, which is basically a electronic 700r4.
For the money I would just replace it with another 4L60E, they are cheap and you wont have to do any fabrication to make it fit.
The better transmission to go with would be the 400. This means no overdrive and a ton of fabrication to make it work, along with finding another transfer case.
