My new DP Tuner adventure...
Since September Ive been a member here learning as much as I can about my 7.3. I have seen DP this and DP that and it wasnt a big deal to me since Id had my SC tuner and was somewhat happy with it. Well...I got my DP Tuner in from Clay today and my mouth dropped with the change in tuning. I got the NS, Stock, 60tow, 80econ and 120race. The shifting I will have to get used to and I actually like how it shifts. The 80 econ and 120 race tunes puzzle me though. In 80 it seems like my truck just wants to literally do a wheelie. I dunno if my 80 and 120 reversed or something but the tunes are amazing nonetheless! The downshifting will need to be gotten used to as well.
Anyways, now I know what all the talk was about! Great product!

It's nice to hear these stories. I never get tired of them. I really like the ones where there are guys using an "off the shelf" unit and then they go with a DP or TW chip. The difference is always amazing. I wish I could run into someone that has a Superchip or like product that thinks they have a fast truck.

OK,, I have been to the DP website and considering one. But I have a few questions?
Is there just a plug and play option for upgrades without taking the "drive line" to the limits? I am not into racing, but would like quicker/firmer shifts and MPG would be great.
Is it only for my model truck or can it be used on other 7.3 of different years? Will it work on a 04 6.0?

It won't work on a 6.0, they have a completely different PCM. As far as having plug and play upgrades, you need the F6 chip in order to have plug and play access to upgrades. They have trial tunes that you can download from your computer and load to your chip yourself and try out for I believe 10 or 12 cycles of the key, and decide if you like/want them before you buy.
