58 F100 OEM wheels wanted

Does anyone have 2 OEM steel wheels for my 58F100. I've got some aftermarket wheels now, but I don't like the "fit"--back spacing etc--they all end up sticking out of the fenders more than I want. If I get some "custom" wheels made--and I know where and how etc--they really get pricey!! And it seems crazy to spend that much if I dont' have too. I was hoping I could find a pair of used OEM wheels in good enough condition. These would be for the front, and as i understand it they are 15" x 6", 5 on 5 1/2. I'll have to check with my tire guy to see if the 6" OEM wheels are wide enough for the modern radials I'm using, but I think they'd fit. Not positive though.

I thought some of you might have a pair stored somewhere that you'd like to sell.

I think I may have one left but that same bolt pattern was used on F-100/F-150 into the mid-nineties so you should be able to find something that's exactly what you want in regards to width, backspacing, disc brakes...etc.

For example, I have 1978 Bronco rims on my 58 F-100.

58 F100 wheels

Thanks for responding. I didn't realize they were so commonly available in later models. I'll go to our local wrecking yard and see if they have something like your Bronco wheels.

Thanks

The newer ones will fit the truck, but the hubcaps won't fit. I have several laying around. Shipping would be pretty high, but if you can't find any locally let me know.

Thanks Harley--I'll check at the wrecking yard first, but appreciate your telling about your wheels. Ya I suppose its pricey to ship wheels. I've never done it. I wonder if its required that they be boxed etc.? Probably uh? What a hassle. Ill keep your message handy and if I can't find something at the wrecking yard I'll get back to ya.

Thanks

Thanks for responding. Areyou still in Wyoming? If I read your profile correct. I'm guessing you are. I think you;re the closet yet. I'm in Northern Calif-near Napa. I'll check out what I can find at the wreckers here, and then see where things lead.

Thanks again

I think your stock wheel would be 16" wheels, I know they were on the '48-52 F-1s. As far as I know the 15" wheels were used on early Lincoln or Mercurys but I could be wrong. The 15" wheels are hard to find, I just sold one last week for $40. The bolt pattern was the same until late mid '90s but they don't accept the stock type hub caps that snap into the center of the wheel. I don't know when the style changed but I would guess early '60s.

If your interested in 16" wheels this was posted week before last, they're in San Diego, a bit of a drive though:

i got 4 of 'em in 15 inch { the original innies so your hubcaps would fit } . two of 'em had been reversed and chromed and are RUSTY , and all four have old tires on 'em . to far for me though as i barely have enough time to deal with small stuff . now if yer close and want 'em guy's where i dont have to mess with shipping , well .... make me an offer . i'm not using them anymore as i'm going to a smaller pattern . and yes they are the 15's not the standard 16's and they are 5 x 5 1/2 .

Thanks for your response. If I weren't so far away I'm sure it would work for me. I'm up in northern calif. Maybe someone else is reading and you can help them. I know they'd appreciate it.

I have found one though. Its got an old deflated tire on it, and I'll have to get that off to be able to evaluate the wheel, but it looks pretty good.

I FOUND IT IN MY GARDENING SHACK!!. That's right. I've got so much truck junk I don't even think to look through my own stuff sometimes.
I'm doing my "spring cleaning" thing around the house and yard and I just coincidentally "dug it out" of the corner while cleaning. I remember it now. It came as a "temp" tire/wheel on an old 49F1 project truck that had the one 15" and the other three 16"s. I tossed in the shack and forgot about it. That was some years ago.

LOL
