I have a 1988 F-250 and I would like to know do I have wires for the back speaker pre-installed or do I have to run the wires myself. Also I just got a !2" speaker from a buddy of mine where can I get a box for it?
If you don't you can run it yourself it shouldn't be hard. There are many places to get a box along with making your own which is cheap. onlinecarstereo.com, crutchfield, woofersetc just to name a few...

Hope everyone is warm in the north!
if you got a 12", make sure you know the wattage so you can get an appropriate amp for it, and you can get a Schoshe (i think thats how its spelled) box for a 12" sub at wally world for $30.
Im not against getting an amp thats what i wanted to run the system w/o a sub but i went to bestbuy today and the guy said it would prolly run me about a thousand bucks installed and that doesnt even include a sub which they had a shallow one fosgate already in the box for 300 bux.
Looks like im not getting a system after all. DAMN
just get a basic head unit for like 85 dollars at walmart and get some halfway cheap name brand 6 1/2" speakers for the doors and you should be ok for a while. I have an extended cab and have a blaupunkt head unit and all kenwood speakers with a 600 watt xtreme amp pushing 2 Crunch Groundpounder 12's talk bout freaking loud. i half the time have it turned down so i dont blow my ear drums.
i have a 95 f-250 reg cab with a 5.8 and i have roadmaster side speakers(my dad got them not know they suck, they arn't all bad but i could get better) and 2 10" sony speakers behind the seat for bass, and it has a nice boom to it. Head unit is a sony, and i run 2 amps under the seat, a 250 for the side speakers and a 700 for my bass i think.
sony makes speakers, the "Xplod" series, and they are really good, especially at higher volumes, and are available at wally world for cheap. one key thing: they make low profile subs, up to 15" are what ive seen, and they are only 4 to 6 inches deep i think, vs. 8 to 10.
Although I had a small one in a Grand Am and didn't hardly notice it, anyone suppose a bass cannon behind the seat of a reg cab will help anything? I have a couple 750 watt amps and 2 12" woofers, but I don't wanna take up room installing those subs. The amps I can use problem free, but I'm tall and need my leg room!!
