You have to use the removal tool.
You use two different size tools.
Spray WD-40 in first and then twist the line to brake the "O" rings loose.
Push the line toward the tank and while holding it there stick the tool all the way in.
While holding the tool all the way in pull the line off the tank.
Most do not have much luck using the metal tools.
Do not try to pull the lines off without the line released or you will mess it up.

Thanks Subford
I tried what you said and removed one line.
The other line will not move forward and seems to not want to break loose

No because the tank check valves are in the tank and you would shoot gas out of both lines.
Sorry.

Thanks Subford for all your help.
I guess I'll be looking for a tank this coming week.
they say while the tank is out to replace the pump with a new one is that so.

If you are paying somebody to do the work it would be cost efficient.
I do not do it as I do all my on work.

I do not know for sure but do not think so.
The gas trucks have a pump in the tank and the Diesel trucks do not.
So I would think the hole for the sending unit in the top of the tank for a Diesel would be smaller than the gas truck with a pump.
