6.9 idi blue exhaust smoke

I dont know how to post a video on here so this'll be harder than it needs to be. I've got a 6.9 idi and the exhaust smoke is blue, I know black is too much fuel, and white i believe is water (coolant), what's blue? I've read that it could be the valves but dont want to tear into that without being sure.

Blue is oil. However, blue smoke from a diesel, when cold, is normal.
If the smoke is more than just when the engine is cold, 1st thing to check is the CDR. That's the crankcase breather system, and I believe it is located in the intake, just below the air cleaner.

Well, that brings up another possibility. The intake gasket could be leaking, allowing oil to be sucked into the cyls.
The CDR is a small-ish can-like device in the intake, just below the base of the air cleaner. Should be a ~1" tube connected to it that comes out of the top of the then engine, under the intake. Pull the tube off and see if the smoke goes away. Don't be surprised if a bit of oil blows out of the tube while it's running, as that isn't uncommon....
