Hummer wheels on F350?

I just picked up a 1997 SRW Reg Cab F350 4x4. It's a cool truck, optioned out right (460 EFI, E4OD, LS), and well maintained by the elderly pervious owner. While part hunting on-line I remember that the Dodge guys are putting Hummer H2 wheel on their trucks. They're all over Ebay and, for a wheel that size, a great deal. And some take offs even have low mileage 35s still on them (though BFGs are the last tire I would want to run). Anybody know if these wheels would fit? I know the 8-lug pattern should be the same but what about back spacing? The Dodge guys have to mill out the hub on the wheels a little. I'm I going to have to do the same? Has anybody out there actually tried this?

Yes I do have them on my truck and they fit perfectly no tire rub at all and they do not stick out of the wheel wells either. But I did have to machine the centers to fit over the hubs probably had to remove 3 millimeters of material to get the wheel to slide over the hub. I had a machine shop do this but you could do it yourself if you really wanted too. You can not beat the price of the take offs, including the wheels I paid 500 dollars and the tires were brand new. You will need different lug nuts though I just went to the local parts store and bought new ones with the correct taper on the end.

Cool! Yea, I figured I'd have to deal with the milling the hubs. That's easy enough though. Thanks bro.

What's the best way to mill out the center hub for fitment. I have 1 brand new wheel and tire I got for free I'd like to try it out.

There are many ways you could do this with a die grinder, ridge reamer etc Just go slow and only take as much off as you need. I used a machine shop as I did not have the time to do it myself it was not cheap though because I had to have the tires dismounted but it did turn out great.

one thing to remember. 97 was a mid year change in the ford trucks. the older trucks had the old 8 lug bolt pattern, and the newer trucks made in the later part of the year have the new metric 8X170 MM bolt pattern.
