Would you buy another Escape ?
I saw a thread similar to this in a Nissan Versa forum i am in and am interested to hear from you guys. If you had it to do over again would you have bought your escape? I am currently looking into getting one and would like to know if I would be making the right decision. Thanks!
Also we had an 04 Tribute AWD that we really miss and really liked it for the most part, except for a few minor things. Just curious on how well you guys like your escapes.

We've had a 2009 Escape Hybrid Limited since October 08 and I have to say we love it. Smooth ride, handles great and the fuel economy average is better than the EPA. We would definately buy another if we had to.
We also test drove a non hybrid 09 Escape XLT and the ride quality was just as good. I would definately recomend the Hybrid if your not going to use it for off road and can get an xplan number/pricing.

Like it alot, good gas mileage averages about 31-32 consitantly gets 34-35 on a couple of long trips. Turning radius is out of this world! The best thing about it is when you are sitting in it, you dont feel like you are in a base model car, I feel like I am in an Altima or something nice, Very well built for an entry level car, you wont find the quaility it has on the focus's or cobalts etc. Overall very happy with it just wish we would have gotten the hatchback but it was my wife's decision.......you know how that goes.

Your Tribute is a rebadged Escape with a few minor trim differences so you have quite a bit of experience with the vehicle. I have an '02 Tribute and recently bought a '09 V6
4WD Escape (I still have the Tribute). The improvements in the drivetrain are very noticeable and the new model is quite a bit quieter than my '02. My Tribute does handle curves a bit better than my Escape as the Escape seems to be tuned more for comfort while the Tribute has that "zoom zoom" thing. My parents always liked my Tribute so they bought a '09 Mariner for my mom. 13,000 miles on the '09 thus far.

I had an '04 XLT for a year and loved it except the fuel mileage wasn't good in the type of driving I do.
Bought an '05 Escape hybrid in March 2005. Liked it so much I bought an '06 Escape hybrid in June 2005 - right off the truck without even a test drive.
I'd definitely buy another one if I was in the market for another car. But, I like those I have so much I plan on driving the wheels off them.
And by the way, I like the car for what it is. The fact that the hybrids get great mileage is just icing on the cake.

One advantage to the 09 models is the improvement in fuel economy. Over Easter my wife followed me on a 330 mile to our daughter's house. My 4WD V6 '09 averaged 1.7 mpg better than our '02 FWD V6. My best highway tank is 26.7 mpg (415 miles between fill-ups). It took 10,000 miles before the motor was broken in and the fuel economy moved up - or it was a change of seasons.

We had a 03 LTD and loved it not one warranty problem and put 139,000 kms on it. Sold it and bought two new 09 escapes totlly loaded LTDs and love the increased horse power and handlability. No issues or warranty problems to date, one with 5000 kms and other now has 6000 kms. A fun to drive SUV!!! Ellis
