finally got her started today

well, after my seized motor incident i got her back from the machine shop put her in place and she fired right up and purred like a big kitten. Ill post pics tomorrow just had to fire off a note in here cause its a big milestone for me.
by the way what seized up was 2 of the wrist pins on the pistons. they were new pistons and for some reason they grabbed and that was that, Ill try and show a pic of the pins.

That's great!! How close are you to getting it on the road? There are getting to be enough ABQ trucks that run to have a real get-together -- we should plan something!

If things go well ill have her on the road in a month. I just need to wrap up my wiring, windows and a little interior work and she will be road worthy. The machine shop was awesome, tried to pay me for the labor to pull it and put it back in.. Labor was all me so
i had him put in some better pistons and we called it even. Frosy beverages sound awful good.

When I had my engine rebuilt, I was really nervous. It was the first one I didn't do myself and I'm a terrible "back seat driver."

It tended to overheat and every click or clack was a thrown rod. But having just passed 6000 it has broken in nicely drives and idles cool and is a dream.

Hey get it on the road and get some miles on it!!

Shoot I feel like a "Bird Mom." We keep getting all these fledgling trucks going and then the owners go out and have so much fun they never write back.

Like John Smith Jr. He never calls, he never writes, after he got his flathead running and turned into a flathead carb afficianato, he just started driving and we haven't heard from him since.

What have we done to deserve this???WHAT???????
