Difference between Job 1, 2 and 3? Good, bad, ugly... educate me please.

I'm looking to get rid of my 2001 7.3 and get a new 08 or 09 F250. What's the differences in the Job 1, 2 and 3 builds? Should I stay away from any one particular one?

Prices are real nice right now and I'm going to take advantage of it. I'd like to buy a new one, but the used ones are looking good price wise. I just don't want to buy a used one to find out it's a Job X and isn't worth it, I'll have problems, etc...

Can someone give me the lowdown on all of this?

If the truck you find that you want has all the recalls it will operate the same, regardless of the build date.

I think the only difference will the the front air dam under the bumper. If it's less than 3 inches tall it will be a job 1 truck. The rear backup camera will also be a job 2 or later option, I think...

Most all of the job 1's were also 4X4's with 18" wheels. I believe the 20"'s came out with job 2.

Tire pressure monitors were not available on job 1 builds, nor was the 3.55 rear end. There's probably more.

If I go close and short, I go to River Park at the Tuttle Creek Dam. Other than that, I spent two different months at Rushford, Minnesota last year as a volunteer manager for Brethren Disaster Ministries flood rebuilds. I've got one month slated at Indy Lakes Campground just south of Indianapolis this year for the same kind of work, and will likely put in more time in Indiana or New Orleans where we still have a Katrina rebuild project.

John here is a link to a thread about Job numbers and the differences. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...d-changes.html.

Larry looks like you mix business with pleasure. Those Daydreamers are pretty luxuriuos. I have a 33' Cardinal triple slide. If we every make up your way I'll let you know or if you are coming my way let me know.

I don't think there is any reason to stay away from any particular build. Some of the ones built in early 08 have injector issues, but Ford is replacing them under a recall. Most of the differences are in optional equipment.
