2013 Ford F-150 Error Code P012D

Howdy fellas,
Noticed my service engine light was on. Took it to Autozone and they found error code P012D Turbocharger Inlet Pressure Sensor was bad. Ordered a new one for $37. I'll change out the bad sensor for the new sensor.

Question: How does the error code get reset?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can do one of three things. You can drive it and let the truck reset it itself bit that could take up to 1000 miles, You can disconnect the positive (red) battery cable the keeping it well clear of the battery jumper it to ground, or 3 use a scan tool to clear the code.

Drive on the highway at around 54 mph for more than 10 miles should run most of the monitors. That way you'll know if it's actually fixed.

You can disconnect the positive (red) battery cable
NEVER DO THAT!!! Disconnect the NEGATIVE cable first... it's a personal safety issue.

You are correct because of possibly arcing with the wrench.
But as an electronics tech we are taught to remove the hot side and leave all grounds connected, then short the positive to ground through a resistor.. This will help drain any capacitors.

I'm also trained as an electronics tech (40 years). Automotive stuff sometimes has exceptions to the normal bench electronics procedures, this is one of them.

Issue has been resolved!

Replaced the sensor($37) and had Autozone reset the error code.

All is back to normal.

Thanks fellas.

Did someone at Autozone actually help you with the code reader? Most will loan you the reader but won't hook it up or clear codes for you due to liability reasons.

And yes, definitely disconnect the negative first and put it back on last. Also, I don't think a KAM reset will clear a DTC.
