Limited slip for a Dana 61?

Is there any sort of limited slip unit available for the Dana 61 (3.07)?

Does ARB make an air locker?

Thanks for using FTE!

Limited slip for a Dana 61?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Nov-02 AT 12:48 PM (EST)]I had a Detroit Locker installed in my Dana 61 when my ring & pinion went out. Originally this diff came with a limited slip, the clutches were in bad shape and left me hanging a couple of times, instead of putting money into the LS rebuild I put the $ into the locker. I still have the old carrier with clutches on the shelf. I had some one do the work for me, I have 4.10 gears and as I recall I needed a different carrier. Cost for a total rebuild and locker was $1,150. The labor cost was $150, I thought that was a good deal. I really like this setup, I do a lot of 4 wheeling in the mountains and it hooks up very well. It does take more attention driving on icy roads but does very well in the snow.

Limited slip for a Dana 61?

Here in KC we have a LOT of icy roads, that is why I was hoping ARB made an air locker for it :-) Otherwise a LS unit will have to do.

I contacted Randy's and Reider by eMail a couple of weeks ago with no replies.

-Update...

I got on the phone to both places and found that ARB does make an air locker. They both said the same one that fits a 60 with < 4.10 gears will fit the 61. The air locker will fit 30 spline axles only. The price is high for one of those babies $608+~25 shipping at Reider & is std stock item, $712 at Randy's and of course it is the last one in stock and they won't have them any more... No more ARB's for Dana 60's?

Now I just have to pull an axle to count the splines. I figure I can get new axles if req'd, -keeping fingers crossed.

Thanks for using FTE!

Good luck on the ARB, that will be sweet. If you get in a bind on that let me know, I am not sure my carrier will work with your gearing but I could see freeing up some room and parting with that LS setup.
