spark plug difference

Hi, Could anybody tell me what is the difference between Motorcraft spark plug number: sp-420 and sp-450. I have a set of sp-420 plugs and wondering if I can use them on a 78 302 even though it calls for sp-450 plugs. Or should I just go out and get the right plugs. Thanks for any info, Mike

SP-450 has a thread diameter of 14mm, and the SP-420 has a thread diameter of 18mm, so the 450's probably won't work. As per autozone.com.
