Be very, very careful!

I ran mine down past 0 miles, and when I was about 700 yards from my favorite truck stop, it quit. I had to get it towed and cost me $200.00 to change the filter and get the air out of the lines where it was running OK.

Can't speak for the diesel but for my V-10 gasser here's the scoop:

At first audible bell and light, I have about 100 miles or approx. 8-9 gal left. At which point my lie-o-meter says I have about 25-30 miles left.

I have run for two days with "0 miles to go" on the meter.

Also, at first bell, the fuel gauge needle is still visibly above the red, empty mark. When it starts hovering on the red line I start puckering, looking for the nearest fuel source. Would hate to have push my big girl.

44 gallon tank. Avg. 12 mpg almost always in mixed driving. Mostly city with some short jumps on the interstate. A little better mpg when all highway.

Damn dude, they ripped you off bad!

You can easily change the filter yourself. And unlike diesels of the past, there is no priming required.

My wife ran out of fuel in her Excursion last year. She called me from the side of the freeway. I picked up 4 gallons of fuel and went out to her location, popped the fuel bowl cap off and filled the bowl with some Diesel Klean, put the 4 gallons of fuel in the tank and fired her up.

It takes a bit of time to get all the air from the lines, but it's all good once you get her running.

Gas Light

Guys....New to the forum. Just turned in the S2000 and bought a 2002 XLT Powerstroke with 116K miles. Very clean. Nonetheless, I have manual for it but it is just for gas SD's not the diesel. Wondering about this gas light. Mine came on today and 1/2 Tanks but it had 3-dots or o's next to the light. What is this light...anyone know?
