Sony Audio System with Subwoofer / 700 Watt w/o Nav review
For those thinking about it or curious. First of all if you like your music nice and loud, don't consider it. The Max Volume is a joke. I usually install an after market audio system in my trucks but since they changed the console completely and is in one big piece AND because of the SYNC system I opted for the Sony system factory installed hoping it would carry me over. Do not let the 700 Watts fool ya. Because of the Sony name and the hype, I thought it would rock hard, but no cigar. As I had expected for settings you get nothing but the plain bass, treble, fade and balance. No setting for the subwoofer whatsoever. In fact the louder you turn the volume up, the system alternately lowers the bass and treble. THAT sucks! I will say that the SYNC system far from perfect is totally cool. It gets my commands to play a track or playlist 80-90% of the time. Imagine just saying which song you want to play out loud and it finds it on your IPOD. So for now I am on a quest to improve the sound system and keep the SYNC function. But it seems there is not a lot of information out there on what the speaker sizes are, what subs can possibly replace the Sony one ; add an amplifier and how to increase the volume and better the EQ. Hope this helps someone else. Rock on.
