balance fault

I have 7.3 powerstroke shows balance fault on cylinder 3 with auto enginuty. did a buzz test and doesnt show any bad injectors what else could cause this problem. also engine surges has slight misfire and power loss.

Thanks for any input.

My guess would be a plugged injector. Do a cylinder contribution test. Truck at idle and in gear with brake set. If number 3 is not firing, yo will get a significant higher % on that cylinder than the other cylinders.

Do you by chance have a gray CPS? They seem to throw fantom cylinder fault codes.. I know mine did too, when I put a black CPS back in, I didn't get any codes.

Yep, gotta ask about the grey CPS first. It's known to cause contribution balance fault codes to pop up, even if there is absolutely nothing wrong. If you do have the new CPS, try to replace it with a black one and check the cylinder contribution again.
