I was just curious if the people with high miles what they have done for engine repairs or with that many miles what has given them troubles or such. Not just a mileage thread

I have a set of injectors coming in a few weeks for a local ambulance company that just turned 410,000 on the stock injectors.

I had just over a million on my 91 F-150 that I bought new. I got on a string of ships being decommed and got myself transferred all over the world with that old truck. It never once let me down. It made 5 trips all the way up to the Aleutians in Alaska. 2 of them in the winter and that was fun.

Our current ones at nearly 400,00 miles on one and 300,000 on the other and 200,000 on the newest one.

My dads 2000 7.3 had 415k when he sold it in January and it still ran strong. I don't think he really had any engine issues with it. I know for a fact it had the original injectors.
It did need a turbo at 305k and then a tranny at 315k.
Now he has a 6.0

my dad's old 87 6.9 IDI went alittle over 600k before it turned the main bearing and he sold it. the only work ever done was brake, transmission, and 4x4. He rarely changed the oil and only changed the fuel filter when it plugged.

380,000 on my Granddads 2000 Excursion. It was my Mom's when new, never any major work done to it, no tranny, no injectors. I think it may have had an A/C compressor once, thats about it. My 88 has around 400,000 but I just rebuilt the engine and the bearings in it were 98, so it had been rebuilt before.

We've got a guy on the Super Duty side that sounds like he's gonna need to rebuild his at only 804,000. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...l-fl-asap.html

Was this a hand shaker or an auto?

I've got a auto and I wonder how far the well cared for ones will go.
