I saw a factory Ford canopy today . My first that I know of since reading posts here. It is on a parts truck that I was buying stuff off of. It is in really bad shape. Missing rear door and the fiberglass is cracked. I thought about buying it and trying to repair it. But is it worth the time and effort and the money in the long run? I am sure I can get it cheap. And the truck even has complete western mirrors on it with good uncracked and clear mirrors. I think I'm buying those. Any thoughts?

The problem is I don't want it but don't want to see it going to the scrap yard if someone out there can use it. But I don't want to buy something and be stuck.so I really am heavily contemplating what to do. On the mirrors is 50 bucks to much? They are nice but all the bolts are rusty would need new which is no biggie

Had one once, kind of wish I had kept it .... but I got a good deal when I sold it then years ago. Not sure who made it, I guessed it's weight at like 250-300 pounds. I know it was heavy. It had a welded aluminum frame around the rear opening, but it cracked and I made a new one from 1x1 steel rectangle tubing ... 1/8" wall, added braces ant corners, it was very solid then and no more cracking after paint job with truck in 1989. We camped in it a couple trips, it also covered my tools when I built my house. It did not have any emblems on it when I bought it in '87, but the front glass was a slider and slanted exactly like the truck, was maybe 3" between the two. I had air like seal that was easy to insert and pump up to seal the passway, low pressure but it worked. When camping, I had an air matress, even a small tv and a cabinet I made that went crossways at the front under the pass through.

Green stripe camper shell
[QUOTE=lostinfords;7865145]I have several factory tops and a sleeper top, probably an aftermarket.
w/ stripe
w/out stripe
and a pic of sleeper
This is a long shot, as this is many years ago, but do you still have the green stripe topper? It's the same scheme as my truck.
