06 Screw Console Lock Issues

06 Screw XLT 4x4 6.5-ft bed. 5.4L 43K-mi

I have the 40/60 bench up fron with folding console. Recently I have developed a click when resting arm on console. I assume it is because the lock has loosened and is leaving a little play between the lid and the console itself. Kinda like the little foam piece that hoolds the coins in place is suppose to provide the resistence, but does not anymore.

I have jimmyrigged it with a piece of folded paper, but it would be nice not to have ot do this.

I have inspected the locking mechanism and it seems to be in good repair with no noticeable problems.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks,
D

I have the same year model and motor, just the shorter box. I have 35,800 miles on mine, but have only had it for a few weeks. I bought it used. Anyway, I haven't had an issue with my center console. You know how plastic is though....

lol...its pronounced either way sometimes. Just depends on what I did. Its not my real name, just a screen name I've used for quite some time on other forums.
