I hear ya, Rick. And to be honest a lot of my motivation to go with PHP instead of DP Tuner was because I wanted to do something a little different from the norm. It's good to have differing perspectives so that in the end we can all be more knowledgeable of the products that are available for our trucks. I am always very mindful of the fact that DP Tuner is a sponsor here and have many fans here, which is why I don't get involved with the discussions over whose tunes are better, or why I chose PHP over DP. Besides, most of us have only over run one company's tunes. So how can we really say which is better than the other.

I hear you Bob and agree with you. I'm sure Bill does a good job on his chips. Look at it this way, I always use the sponsor thing in my argument plus the 16 slots for tunes, so that tells you something. .I never say DP is better then PHP, just what I run in my truck.

Yeah, I have to admit, having the option to run 16 tunes at a time would be cool. PHP does have the FU package which gives you access to all of their tunes. But you are still limited to 6 on the chip at a time.

Everyone here is dead on with a custom tune. 700 will get you a chip with some leftover but if you do not have intake exhaust and gauges then you will be looking at a 1000 or more. Even though extremely frowned upon and not your best bet you may look into a bullydogs with the monitor built in so you can keep everything in check for around 600

And to counter that, Hypertech 3 says you do not need a EGT to run their tunes, while towing.. In other words, all sorts of options..

Also, I would prefer gages to something that read my truck and showed that, at the same token, I would love to have a scangage connected so I can watch both the truck and the gages..

My suggestion, keep reading, and ask questions.. then contact the vendors and ask them. Becarefull what you ask, although products appear to be only slightly different, there are those out there that will throw stones at other vendors, try to stay away from that.

Good Luck!!!

It works, but the switch on the fly type chips work much better on the 7.3.

Where is a good place to get all the proper gauges for tuning the truck up a bit. And which ones are recommended (gauges).
