Next project planning under way

Next project planning under way
Well, the next project is under way. It is in the planning phase. It's a '48 F-1. I am getting a Lincoln Continental as a donor. It's getting air bags (the Shockwave ones that are the shock and air spring all in one). The 5.0 is gonna stay stock for a while, but then it's going to get warmed over (yeah, maybe a little on the hot side as opposed to warm). Thinking cam, heads, intake, injetors, headers, MAF conversion, 347 stroker kit, etc., etc. It's an AOD trans, that'l end up with an aftermarket 2500 stall. Going to run the Lincolns 8.8 since it is a factory posi, but will be going to a 3.55 gear. Thinking about Cobra 5-Spoke wheels. It's going to be very low, and is going to be Chrysler Deep Amhethist (wifes favorite car color). Keeping stock bench seat, but am going to have reupholestered, just not in what yet. Flip nose, keeping all trim, I just aint into the shaved look. Dual exhaust, Flowmasters, etc.

Sorry Dave, it's got the cast manifolds. I took a good look at it, and it's a decent looking EFI 5.0 motor and matching AOD. It has the 8.8 posi, and 3.55:1 gears. I am going to try and get it picked up this next weekend, and start checking it out. We may be moving, so my trucks might see storage for a little while. Getting tired of paying $300 more per month rent than anyone else in town for a similar house. We pay $900, plus all utilities, and it really makes it hard to buy Ford truck stuff. For the 48, I am going to be boxing most if not all the frame in, and going 4-link with air rears, and ifs on air front. Am also toying with the idea of a 2 inch body drop. This will help make the engine look better under the hood, as opposed to looking like a tiny thing with all that room. Am also considering this so that I won't have to notch the frame in the rear, since I don't want it looking South L.A. lowrider style, just low and mean performance style.

I got the donor car picked up Saturday. It has a very smooth running 5.0. I didn't get a chance to mess with enough to check the tranny and such, but I aint to worried about it. The boss man has an extra set of ladder bars he's hooking me up with, and then I am going to graft the Lincolns front suspension into the 48 frame. We'll have to see how it goes from there. I think I am going to dig the truck out next weekend, and start messing with it.
