2000 f250 help...rough idle hard to start

Hey guys, I have a f250 7.3l powerstroke with 220,000 miles that takes forever to crank and when it finaly does it lopes really bad at idle. I replaced the glow plugs and checked the relay. After it runs for a while and warms up it runs ok but still sounds awful at idle. What could be the problem?
Thanks

How cold is it and what kind of oil are you using? Will it smoke once it starts, how new are the batteries and when did you charge them with a battery charger.

Welcome to FTE. How long have you had the truck, and how often has the oil been changed? What color is the smoke you're seeing? How many miles are on this oil change?

Do you recall what wight of oil your using, and it my be a dumb question but is that synthetic or regular. Depending on how old the oil is and if it is cold, you might want to change it out for some 5-40 Rotella T. Good synthetic oil will start easier and wont make the truck romp when its cold. This might be your problem and Ford says it's ok to run it year round.
