Mystery front drive axel

Hello I am new to this forum. I am hoping somebody here can help me out with a problem I am having identifying the front axel on my Ford E-350 bus. This bus is front wheel drive and has no rear axel. There are airbags in the rear. This is a 2000 E-350 with a 7.3 liter turbo diesel engine. The model of the bus is low trans and I am enclosing pics of the front differential, the front hub and the front rotor. As you can see from the pics the front rotor is cracked and the auto part stores have no listings for this bus and combo front wheel drive axel. I thought it may be the front axel from a F-350 but when doing the comparison they are totally different. Mainly I need to identify the rotors and see if there is a heavier duty model available. Any help would be appreciated.<o>></o>>

Thanks

Danny

Here are some pictures to start with

It looks like 12 bolt, but it's more square than the 10.5.

Take a look here Rockwell Axle ID

It looks like the Chrysler 9.25 but would they put that in a ford?

I would contact the conversion company, they should have it on record what they used in the van.

Looks like the Chrysler axle based on the two arm from link and coil. Get a pic of the pumpkin cover off and compare to above. It doesnt look like a ford axle to me, but its possible a flipped over D50 modified for this application....

The basic setup looks the same as what Quigley does with the square tube 4 link bars in the front. That is what we have under our 1996 E350 except it has a DANA 60 up front. It might be worth emailing them to see if they have any ideas as maybe they used a Chrysler axle under some of them. Quigley Motor Company, Inc.

It has NO rear axle? What locates the wheels? Why would it only be front wheel drive? Got more pics? That is one interesting van!

That link goes on to describe that the axle is used in the same application as yours.

Geez those are the axle gurus at pirate.... Those buses are in use in my area as people movers.... I have no clue about the maker but talk to some shops working on buses... they might be able to lead you to a part source

The rear has 1 large swing arm with an air bag between it and the frame. The bus is made to squat when the doors are open.

They use some of those things in cities near here. They squat down very low for loading and unloading passengers. I've also seen the same thing used for wheelchair accessibility. DeBerti designs did a one-off design for SEMA 2007 that was a front drive F-450.

Not positive but this may be your answer:

Dallas Smith Corp - Low Floor Chassis Cabs

Maybe a Dana Super 60 like the one in this truck modified for full time use?
