Hi from SE PA, diesel question

Hey, guys! Never scrolled down this far on the forums page until today. My garage queen will become my DD starting tomorrow, due to downsizing in the company I work for I am no longer a foreman with a company truck. I am back to running heavy equiptment- and happy about it- but my truck- in sig-is looking at 133k. No problems now but I'm looking for a performance/ reputable diesel shop in this area just in case she starts hiccuping. Anyone have any recommendations, good and bad, who to stay away from? I'm about 10 min. from Valley Forge Park. TIA for any suggestions, see ya around the boards!

i dont know of any shops but as far as i am concered you have a chipped lifted 6.0...... i have many bad memories of that combination from working at ford as a diesel tech. i would just be leary of that combo on a stock trans and stock head bolts. those would be my only real concerns with your current truck at 133k

I don't thrash on it, and I'm only running stock+20 HP. Not too worried, I'm 41 not 21, but want to be prepared. Only ran the SCT for @ 500 mi. so far, ran the MSE for @100 of those miles. Actually just trying to get some better fuel mileage, and the tranny shifts much crisper with the Spartan tunes. Thanks for the reply!

Hello Tim, glad to see you finally stopped in the chapter to visit us after all the time you've been on site. Why your around here why don't you click on the link in my sig and join the chapter, it's free and the get togethers are fun. Check out the link about the ATN's in Carlisle, maybe you can meet up with us there.

There are quite a few members in the chapter who are diesel guys so hopefully they can clue you in about a good shop.

We have one member from the 'Blue Diamond Parts Company" which is a Ford Motor Company/International Truck and Engine Corporation Joint Venture, who may be able to steer you in the right direction. His name is PaulFreda, thats how he's listed in the members file, send him a PM or e-mail.

Soondg, honestly the thought never crossed my mind, just scrolling down the forums page b/c I read all the current posts in the 6.0 forum where I mostly hang out,and thats when I noticed the PA chapter. Maybe it was my ADD! Anyways, I clicked to join, don't know when you have the GTG's but I'll see about making them. Summer is usually the busy season for us and it's hard to get a Sat. off sometimes, but I'll do my best. Thanks for the invite and all the helpful info, see ya around. Geez, I love this place! BTW whats Soondg stand for?
