Hey Donald, I vote to keep the spare also. I LOVE it. I know you could change the fender and all, but I really like the look of it on your truck. I almost put one on mine, but being OCD as I am, I'd have to make it to where I'd have one on the pass side too. That would work out since I was such an idiot when I had my wheels made and have 2 different bolt patterns. I should have redrilled my axles and drums so I could have the same bolt pattern front and rear. Anyway, my vote is DEFINATELY to keep the spare. It looks GREAT

spare tires are for looks nowdays. When is the last time you needed a spare on the road for your truck. I have owned my truck since 1977 and never needed to change a flat tire. Before I fixed up the truck I did not have the spare tire carrier under the truck. I kept teh spare in the bed of the truck in college since I was 3 hours away from home but when I got home I took it out.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I dont know yet how to setup a voting poll. Maybe someone will PM and tell me how. The wife says it needs to grow on her, seeing the truck with a spare. I think on Tuesday though I am going to get the red vinyl tape and etching knife and do the lettering on the hubcaps to match the other ones on the truck. Sorry we missed you guys Brian and Dale you undoubtly would have improved the looks of the picture.
Something I been thinking of doing to the doors to go along with theme of the truck.
Just thinking about. I was born in 1969 and my late Dad was born 4-28-1932. Obviously I would get so it would look proportional on the door.

GO for it...
1) ...keep the spare...you're truck rocks with that on that
on the rear fender even more!
2) That door art is rockin' man...I think it is a great idea...nostalgia
at it best...
When I got my '56 Custom Cab I got an extra pair of rear fenders
included with the outside spare cut-out and a spare tire
mount...all original stuff...
...when I get to this point of my build...I want to go this route 'cause
I really like the look on these trucks......
Just my $0.02...
