I did this Photoshop for someone a couple years ago. It started as a rusty, blue longbox with an aluminum cap on it. The only change I made to the body was the sectioning of the hood to remove some of the bulk on the frontend and adding the lid on the back.

You know what would be cool? Run the two ridge lines on the hood on down the bed cover.

Cool photoshop....love the sectioned hood idea. I saved that to my collection. I've got 2 hoods for my truck. Might just try that on one to see how it looks. Thanks

i wanna build a stepside but will take fleet bed truck and i have it pictured in my head it will be slammed in the fron and slightly in the back with the old school american racing daisy wheels or the 200s wheels whcih is a high polished version
Mine is for sale, check out my gallery. I have always been partial to the wrap around rear window. My dad gave me his 1960 as my first vehicle (in 1972) and it had the rear wrap. I agree with the others that you should find a good solid truck to begin with and then the cost to convert it to your final wishes will be less than a full blown restoration and customization. My bottom dollar is 6500.00. All original, those are getting harder and harder to come by and as such the value will continue to rise. Send me a private message if you are interested. The truck is in Colorado Springs.

All I said was "like this one". The rest was supposed to be a headbanger smiley, but something musta went wrong. If you're interested in mine PM me, it is near ready to register, license etc as far as driving it. Obviously body & paint hasn't been done either. I have about 15k invested so far. Check my gallery for more info.

I am rebuilding a '58 that I bought 2 1/2 years ago now and it to be very quite honest has been nothing but headache after headache. But truthfully nothing will stop me from finishing this truck I really don't care but it deffinatly has been a spendy project. 1st issue was motor then finding a decent enough of a cab to use since mine is virtually gone all the way around the floor pan (MN truck). I did find a cab about a month and a half ago after looking for 5-6 months. So do keep in mind that because these parts arn't common enough it will take more $$$. Actually taking body parts to the shop to get worked on today!! I have gotten lucky though the day I went after the cab that I bought my dad showed me a '57 f-350 sitting in the woods tipped on it's side and the old lady was going to take it to the junk yard this summer. So she has been letting me strip any parts I want off this truck. Its has a sraight 6 don't know what CID it is.

And after being through what I have been through please do take the time to find the style truck you want and make sure it is in EXCELLENT shape because it will just make your life Oh so much easier. They are cool trucks but you have to be willing to go the extra mile to rebuild one because of all the frustrations they can cause even with somthing so minor as finding an emblem (anyone have the F100 for a '58 Hood emblem I have the Ford and the arrow but missing 2 F100's haha).

I have a few pictures of my 59 4x4 posted here Bmans59. I went with the 58 front end though because of the round turn signals. Unlike most, I prefer the look of the older stepsides over the fleetsides. Less of them around also.
