Will a rear windshield out of a '98 standard cab fit on a '94 extended cab? Looking to replace my rear window with a slider and I think I found a donor.
I know in '94, the standard cabs had a much smaller rear window. But the newer year standard cabs have a much larger rear window and it looks about the same and my extended cab '94. Just wondering if the swap will work.
mfp4073, with all due respect, I think you need to reread my post. So you're saying the 97 and earlier EXTENDED cab rear windows (which I assume you know are much larger than the 97 and earlier standard cabs) are still smaller than the 98 and newer standard cabs? Even if that's true, how then would a '98 and up window be the correct thing for me to put in my '94 Ranger Extended cab? First off, I'm not sure you're correct on the window size. Second, if you are correct, your logic that I should use a 98 and up window makes absolutely no sense.
I searched on another forum and found a pretty thorough post on this subject. one person said the older extended cab rear windows ARE the same size, but they may have a different mounting style. He said the newer sliders actually bolt in, and the older ones are held in by the seal.
Can anyone confirm this? Seems like someone on this forum should know this.
Ok, never mind. I mistyped, what I was trying to say was that 98 plus windows are larger and not compatible (I misread that you were working on a 98 and trying to use a 94 instead of working on a 94 and trying to use a 98). I replaced my rear window on my 99 ex cab last year. I did a bunch of digging on this at the time. Was just trying to help. If it would allow me I would be happy to delete my previous post.
