I was 11 when those twisters went through here. We lived on the south side of Jeffersontown at the time. We could see the top of the funnel from our back yard.
I remember that traffic reporter. That was Dick Gilbert. He followed it til it went back up. I think he got some unbelievable footage from the camera he had in the chopper with him. Dad was a cop and worked 12's for the next month and a half.
It's a shame that you are laid off right now. Way to go on getting the Bronco going!

Ahh, I'm use to it.... I'm a construction worker, so I get laid off quite a bit.... but there's suppose to be a decent sized money job starting up sometime this month I can hit.... and that otta let me finish the wifes 71 Bronco, so I can start on my other one (72 with rockwells)...
Been an easy week work wise. I think my brother and I are going to see some slow times ahead for a while. Not as many trucks running. Heard this morning that GM is going to shut down for 9 weeks this summer. That will park a lot of trucks. A lot of people don't realize how much revolves around the auto industry. It's the auto plants themselves, but it's the parts suppliers, the trucking companies, and the feeder businesses that bank on their support as well, like the local convenient stores and the resturaunts near those places.
This weekend we have a birthday party we're going to (wife and kids) for one of my nephews at Kincaid Lake State Park. Wife and kids will be camping this weekend. I may stay the night saturday night, assuming no work comes in. Her parents will be out there too camping. Should be a good time. Weather will be great, that's for sure!
Hey John! Have fun at the bday party. I guess we'll see how bad this is going to be. I just got back from the Dave Ramsey Townhall for hope meeting at a local church. I will say it follows his Financial peace university but he had some good answers for canned questions.
