The '84 302 (whats left of it) with the newer, or h.o firing order, is in an 84 Crown Vic that had 60,000+ original miles. It belonged to an elderly lady that owned the car since new. Still had new car smell. She lost the title, so I got it for $200 and made a dirt track car out of it. The engine had never been apart. Every nut and bolt was pristine. I have a cousine that works in the parts department at the local Ford dealership, that told me it's very possible that some of the H.O cams made it into the regular engines.

well i ripped apart the other 302 and i have all the the stuff i need to make one 302 now, i just have to put the parts together, its like a big jigsaw puzel.
the one thing i dont have is a carb intake after looking around i might be able to get one cheep but its a square bore and i have a spread bore carb, will the carb fit on it or will i need a adapter? also will a transfer case that came of a standard trany fit on a auto 4wd trany or a 2wd?
pics
i think that frame is from a high boy it has a divorced transfer case

If you arent worried about running egr, the Elelbrock Performer 2121 is a good one. I picked up a new one for $175 at Oreilly's. The Performer with egr, 3723will run you well over $200. You can also get an Edelbrock 600 cfm for around $250-$275 depending on where you shop. The spread bore you have is most likely for a big block and would prove troublesome. I personally prefere the Edelbrock carbs, because they are easy to tune, rebuild, they have mechanical secondaries, and will get you decent gas milage.

i found a few other carbs tucked away in a corner a holly 4v, 2 q-jets and 4, 2v ford carbs(mostly disasembled). would the mottomaster carb that supposedly came from a big block be to much for the little 302? i think this it the intake im going to go with Summit SUM-226030 - Summit Racing Street & Strip® Stage 1 Intake Manifolds
the holly i found is a liitle dusty but a carb kit would fix it up. i looked all over the carb but i didnt find anything that would tell me how big it was, ill take some more pictures tomorrow maby some on here can clear up some questions.
