2008 F-150 Transmission Slip??

Finally had to get rid of the 250 with the death wobble, was a great truck until that happened! Settled on F-150 and, according to the wife, am having some issues already at 4500 miles.

I don't drive it too much but she reports some sort of slip/surge when going up or down small inclines, has happened three times.

She describes it like throwing the truck in neutral for a brief moment the putting it back in gear.

Anyone else experience this issue?

This is a common occurence, I have it on my 2007! Had it checked out, & they could not find anything! It's like a glitch in the software programing, it will only happen at speeds of 25 MPH, & in heavy traffic, or slow conditions. Way to alleviate it is to push in the OD button to the off position, so that the tranny shifts more smoothly & crisp in heavy traffic & slow conditions! It's just the way the tranny is...........

I have the same problem with my 08 S-Cab. They are coming out with a software update for the transmission. I purchased my truck in January and have to bring it in for an update. Back in March, the update was not ready. This should fix this problem, I hope ??

Do you know if this is a warranty recall?

My 04 does it. The dealer said it was beacuse the transmission goes into a freewheel mode when you are not touching the gas. Then when you step back on the gas it clunks back into whaterver gear it needs to be in. I feel it when I don't come to a complete stop and take off.

My 2007 Screw Fx4 does it too. The first time it happend it felt like a slip but then the next couple of times I realized it was having trouble deciding which gear to be in. For me it always happens when I come around a corner in town about 15 mph then go to accelerate up to 25.

Mine does the same thing, but when I'm in heavy traffic or going slow around town I just hit the O/D button and it runs just fine.

My 08 S-cab had a bad vibration when re-accelerating at highway speeds. The dealer said this was normal for the truck(I don't think they road tested it) but it went away after 8 or 9k. I am not sure if my recent service corrected an issue or if it adjusted on its own...

I think it is about 3-4 shift flare, 25-30 mph, light acceleration. Affects 07 & 08 between certain build dates. Ford has a TBS on reprograming the computer.
