LOL is right!

Hmm...lets see, you arrive exactly at 8M...and head to the roach coach for coffee and donuts...then you stand around for a half hour jawing with the guys.

You wander into your office around 8:45...and start shuffling those invoices.

You take your time...by removing the staple from each and every one a them, scrutinize them veeery carefully at both sides of the invoice and the PO...then you staple each one back together again...and...by now...it's noon...time for lunch.

After you get back from lunch you return all the phone calls you avoided in the AM, because you were sooo busy...by now...it's 2PM...time for a bathroom break.

At 2:30 you return to your office...start reading all the literature that Ford sends out...most of it worthless.

You read each and every line on each and every page making notations you'll never see again...because you toss the literature into the circular file after reading it.

After you've finished reading all that claptrap, you take your circular file all the way out to the back lot to the dumpster..and dump it.

Now it's 4:45...only 15 minutes left.

Now...I know...Ed...you don't do this and neither did I...but this is EXACTLY what one P/M did every day for years!

someone should write Ford and let them know how they are taking advantage of us on this. Unfortunately; I dont have time and probably will remove the ebrakes.. They are too far gone to patch. Mike

Ok, this is the best that I could find... Currie Enterprises sells bare backing plates (reconditioned) for $99.00 each. You will need to contact them to see if they have the specific backing plate for your application.

Telephone Number: 714-367-2676
Part Number: CE-6000

try to get an axle from a junk yard? 10.5's are pretty common mine were really shot too... i could poke through the plate with my finger... i used some huge washers and bolts instead of the pins... if i need the ebrakes ill have them, but i wont trust using them as prescribed kenny

This is what I am going to do.... I will purchase one from the dealer. I will take it apart and lay it over a piece of sheet metal ,1/16 in thick and tranfer the punch the holes and slots. This piece of sheet metal will only be the small diameter of the ID ware the parts get mounted to. The water slinger portion is still good. I will cut that out.... step it away with a sheetmetal ring. POR pain it and save myself the 600 bucks.... Then I will bring back the assemble plate and get my money back from Ford and tell them I did not need it after all. I own 3 fords, 80, 86, 03, and 72 wood chipper with an inline 6. I am staring to hate the Ford motor company after all these years of loving them... Mike

Not sure why the words "parts and Metal" get highlighted and bring you to a web site, just another way to waste your time set up by some sales person. I did not do this, sorry. Mike

back braking plate template

Kenny, I am going to purchase one form ford , then return it... they are going to hit me with a 20% restocking charge. It will cost me 50 dollars, becasue I can get it for under 300.

If I finfd the offset dimension is minimum between the flange and the water slinger/gaurd. I will proceed.

I with then make up the two plates. it they work I may make up a half a dozen and sell them cheep. not sure, I dont have a lot of time, but have two weeks be cause I am laying the truk up to scrape off the undercoating, strip what Ford calls paint and POR the frame , axel , gas tank, bottom of bed, springs etc.

The ford dealer I deal with are some what responsive, but I do sense a bit of low moral on their part. Let me know if you are interested and what you think would be a fair price for somthing like this.

Mike

first see how it works out.. you may not want to do production on these at all...

i think fair would be 50bux its a POS piece of metal if you know what i mean... plus ford sells theirs with ALL the parts in them for 300

also... email me merc45 @ REMOVE gmail.com i can give you tricks on the frame under coating

For what Ford is charging, that backing plate should be made out of stainless steel.
