Tranny cooling question??

i've a 96' F-250 with a 351W and a E40D tranny, i just replaced the motor and since it was out i decided to replace the trans lines going from the tranny to the cooler on the grill and radiator. I had 1/4" hydraulic lines made up to replace them with. I noticed afer i got them the fittings on the end of the hoses are a little bit smaller than 1/4'' and may resrict flow. Will this extra rescrition hurt anything on the tranny and will it make a big differance on how hot the tranny runs. I plan on making a trip from NY to WI haulin a 900lb boat and i dont want to worry over heatin the tranny

that depends on how restricted it is... if its just a little bit i wouldnt worry but if it was like half the size of the line i would be concerned

Restrictions will reduce the flow, which reduces cooling and reduces the lube flow to the trans. I can't say if it's enough to make it a problem or not.

well the actaul line it self is 1/4'' the same as the original... the fittings on the end of each line are smaller, not half but close maybe 5/32'' never measured then before i put then on...
