I am putting my 390 in a 1978 2wd but with no luck. I bought a set of motor mount perchs off ebay supposedly from a 390 but they are the same as whats in the truck. The truck had a 302 if thats helps. I am trying to move the perchs forward since the 390 was against the firewall, but also the oil pan is sitting on the main cross member. I even tried the motors upside down and that helped but the oilpan is resting on that cross member.

does anyone have any pics of 73-79 2wd engine bay or pics of the perchs I need?

Is the 77-79 crossmember different from the 73-76?

 

i after some research i guess the fr/i6 perchs sit an inch higher than 302 perchs and that should fix the oil pan clearence. Anyone have ford fe perchs?

 

I have a neighbor that may have some..It may take me a few days to find out though.

 

I might. I have a 390 in the garage sitting on the floor and I think I pulled the perches. I will look shortly.
