Reset check engine light?

Reset check engine light?
My check engine light is on and the repair has already been made. I know there used to be a way to switch the ignition so many times and it would reset. It's been too long for my memory to kick back in and I'm looking for a refresher on this. I live in the boonies and there isn't anyone around that will do this free. On top of that I really don't want to disconnect the battery cable. Any advice would be completely appreciated. Oh it's a 2001 4 cyl Escape. Thanks!

There's a PCM fuse but I thing the KAL memory isn't fused or they'd just have you pull the fuse instead of the battery cable as it's much easier.
