Why would anyone buy a new dodge? 30 K for a truck whos braging right is we shaved 200 LBS?

Fords last for 20 years, chevys 15, dodges last as long as a two term president.

30 years of screwing the consumer and producing sub standered crap will do you in. The ram sucks.

I would like Ranger /F100 to be a downsised F150 especially available to us in countries that do not offer the Fseries on account of more cabspace and bigger loadvolume issues. Many times i need a larger load bin not a heavier payload. Wish thyed make it happen n not die...

flipklos, I must beg to differ. My E-150 van was built during Jimmy Carters term, (12-77) and my F-250 was built during Ronald Reagans first term (4-83) and both are still in good shape. So Fords do last more than 20 years.

I like ford and dodge trucks. I have a 79 ford f100 I'm working on to have fun in. My dad has a 01 dodge 4x4 with 91,000 miles on it and nothing has been done to it. I have a 95 dodge 4x4 with 157,000 miles on it and nothing done to it either. And my dad has a 97 ford ranger with 219,000 miles on it but the motor was rebuilt and it has 76,000 on it now and it still is going good. Thing is you get good and bad in all of them and plus it's how you take care of then to. I like all the new trucks and theyt are all over priced bad but I think the 09 Dodge is the best looking truck on the road right now. But I just like dodge trucks as far as the newer one goes but there is nothing like a old ford truck.

You're right, it does come down to how you maintain them and there's lemons in all of them. But for me the choice is simple - I've owned now 4 Ford trucks/SUV's and I'd not go back to another brand of truck. They've given me the best reliability (2 of them needed nothing but routine maintenance) and best service. So when I'm truck shopping, Ford is my first pick.

I will confess to owning an S-10 Blazer...absolute JUNK! Worst purchase ever.

Yes, but with the state of the auto industry even an official announcement from Ford wouldn't mean much at this point.

The Truck Trend articles mentioned were confusing. One article said the F100 is dead. Then on the next page it talked about two vehicles that might replace the F100 ??

I would love a F100 as long as it got better gas milage than the F150 (At least 19/23 MPG) and cheaper price. But we'll see.

I guess the only thing we know for sure is that nothing's for sure on this.

We'll know for sure when something rolls off the line...or not.

I hope it comes true though. Something a bit smaller than an F150 but bigger than a Ranger would suit me perfectly!

fords gonna have to spend money on making more super high mpg cars or they have to dump some vehicles if they want to meet now higher requirements that are soon to come....and now that their gonna raise the gas tax so we buy greener cleaner economical cars (that the company "the government" now owns will convenienty build) were gonna need high mpg pick-ups like a f-100 or good ranger...

I would venture to say that with the "Hurricane" engine that is being put in it, the MPG will suck a bit! haha
