Back up camera

Last spring we purchased a used 5th wheel. It has a backup camera mounted. The wires were snipped at the hitch. I have an indash flip up dvd. My question is has anyone hooked up a camera to something like that? I do have a video input on my stereo.

I would get a matching wire for the input on the stereo and make sure it has the rca plugs on the other end. If you get lucky you can get one long enough to go to your hitch. Then get a set of rca plugs to mate into the ones you run from your stereo and wire onto those from trailer. It shouldn't be to difficult and you will need the joining at your hitch anyhow.
How many wires do you have on the trailer end?

Four wires. Then a wire wrap kind of you see with a coax cable.

I would say power wires then one for video and one for sound. I don't know what the wrap wire is though. I did have it hooked up using speaker and a plug I chopped off. I just got lines on the screen. I probably need to go with a video type wire.

Do you have access to go and look at one at a dealer? Maybe they can give you some info?

Check with who / where you bought the 5'er from to see if they can help and check with the manufacturer of the camera.

Good luck,
ck
