Yeah how would the people get in the back seats. Must have to get into the bed by stepping on the tire and squeezing through the rear window. Really got to find out where this guy lives. Would be interesting to know what's all in it.

I bet that truck would be legal in Texas. The only thing they might try to get that on is how the bumper is from the ground.

Start surfing the classifieds on off road forums, there are a lot of deals that go through them, cheap tires, wheels, springs ect.
If I were you I would look at going with an F-250 or F-350, 78 or newer, some 78-79 F-250 trucks had the D-60 front stock, that could prove to be very helpfull later in your build, if you get serious in the mud bogging the beefier diff is deffinatley going to help,

Another one to keep your eye open for is a 92-96 F-350, they are starting to go pretty cheap, can come stock with a 460, & all F-350 trucks in those years have D-60 fronts, Add a 4" lift, 35 tires, lockers, & good exhuast & your done.
For a while anyway.

Still street legal? I think max tires on street around here are 47" lol. I doubt there is snow in Texas. :P

Anyways, you should be more specific of your use.
I mean you tell us you want a mud bogger. We could tell you to get the best axles, meatiest tires, biggest engine.
Mud bogging to these guys could be all out. And to others, it may not. I've been about mid way doors in mud. To some this is extreme, to some its nothing.
To me its a little much. :P

You ought to put a budget or something.

Hmm, I know those 53'' Michillins (off of Military rigs) are legal, and I'm pretty sure that when I read about 54'' boggers coming out they were flaunting they were claimed to be the largest DOT legal tire on the market

Hmmm. Who would WANT a 54" bogger on the road? Thats insane.

Then again, to trailer it you'd probably have to take the tires off haha. I've seen a few trucks that have to trailer it with smaller tires so they can make it under bridges.
