250 05 with leaf??
Hi
Im getting my first truck next week, i cant wait, i signd the contract and everything, the dealer just had to take it to service and put on the speed limiter. but i dont agree wih the dealer about the year. he says its a 05 because it was produced in august 04. but the truck has leaf suspension in the front end and as far as im consourn they came with coilsprings in the front in 05.
if someone can tell me whats right about this i be very thankful.
sorry about the spelling, but im from norway. the truck is also in norway and is imported over here but that shouldn mater i think

Get the VIN and run an OASIS report here on the forum, which will confirm the model year. In the US, the 2005 model did have significant updates, such as:
1. New grille
2. New headlights
3. New bumper
4. New interior dash
5. New 3V 5.4L and 6.8L gas engines
6. Coil spring front suspension
7. Wider Dana 60 front axle
FMC may have delayed these updates in the exported trucks to Norway... however, I would be very surprised if that were the case.

I wouldn't accept it. There is no 05 with leafs and therefore the dealer is full of crap. I wouldn't put it past them if they are using the 05 value to try and sell it. The same b/s happened with my truck! They were selling it as a Harley Davidson Edition because some yahoo put HD stickers on it. When I showed up at the lot I told the salesman he was full of crap. It didn't have black interior, leather, or any of the other HD addons. It was just a black/gray XLT. I got the dealer to drop $8,000 off the price tag because it was in fact a incorrect ad. Even the sticker on the truck said Harley Davidson. Oh and all HD's have a serial number stamped on the doors, just like Saleen does with their builds. That wasn't there either.

It certainly is possible with it being in another country. I have seen things like this happen before. Again, if the title says it is a 2005 model year and the VIN matches the truck, then it is an 05.
The bigger picture is what do you want in a truck? I have had an 2001 with leaf springs in the front and my 2005 with coils. I certainly prefer the coils as it gives a very nice ride, and handles very well. I also prefer the look of my 2005. Now the one in your picture has the look of the early pre-2005 trucks. If you like the look, then you are good to go. Otherwise try to find a newer model. That is my 2 cents for the day.

For me its ok if its a 04 couse i loved the truck.but i dont wanna pay extra for it because the dealer says its a 05 and its not. he want 38375$ for it witch is quit alot for me so i just dont wanna buy the cat in the bag as we say in norway. i think its very strange its a 05 and completly the same look as the 04 i dont beleve it.
thanks for al help! if its a 04 i should get some lower price but i signed the contact but didnt pay for it yet. i wont pay 05 price for a 05!

So now it's confirmed that is in fact a 2004 and not a 2005 with 04 front end.

The VIN is showing a 2004 model:

I thought like the others that since it was an export, maybe it was a 2005 but according to the VIN it's an '04.
